I suggest waiting until my patch (ports/60558) to introduce USE_GPG knob 
to bsd.port.mk infrastructure is committed (or rejected) by portmgr_(_at_)__(_dot_)_
It will simplify the process of verifying PGP/GPG signature a lot.
