People's mileage seems to vary on this, I didn't have any problems
with this version on 6.x either. But, in order to keep people happy,
I have added a legacy net/skype12 for 5.x and 6.x, plus some
additional instructions in UPDATING. Since Skype really wants us to
quit using this, it isn't available for 7.x and above. I have added
the resources flag to net/skype, in both the .desktop file and in
pkg-message and that should be used regardless on FreeBSD.
On another note the amd64 restriction will be removed from linux_dri
so those users can use skype, but I think I'll wait a couple more
days at least before I muddy the water further.
