after configuration

Hi.

I have built the kernel and prepared the main configuration file, as described 
in the manual of the german author of ISDN for BSD.
What should I read now, to learn how to establish the connection?
I am a total newbie as for the networks, because I am building the computer 
mainly as a powerful workstation for music.
